On May 22, Lu Yizhen, person-in-charge of China Representative Office of ALT College and Atyrau Oil and Gas University of Kazakhstan, led a delegation to visit Ningbo University of Finance & Economics. The two sides held in-depth discussions on Belt and Road educational cooperation, international talent cultivation and academic research exchanges, exploring new paths for collaborative development between Chinese and Kazakh universities.

Zhu Fengmei from the International Office of Ningbo University of Finance & Economics extended a warm welcome to the delegation. She introduced the university’s school-running orientation, disciplinary strengths and international development achievements. As one of Zhejiang Province’s first batch of universities building Belt and Road Silk Road Colleges, the university focuses on cultivating application-oriented talents and has established stable cooperative ties with over 50 overseas universities and institutions. The China-Slovakia Silk Road College jointly founded with Slovakian universities has become a provincial model of educational cooperation, boasting rich experience in cross-border talent training and industry-university-research integration.

 

University officials presented achievements in superior disciplines including bulk commodity trade, digital economy and financial management, as well as the international schooling model of supporting enterprises going global through integrated education and industry. They expressed willingness to expand cooperation with universities in Central Asia based on this exchange.

Lu Yizhen spoke highly of the university’s international education achievements. She briefed on the positioning and specialties of ALT College, together with the scientific research strength and China cooperation plans of Atyrau Oil and Gas University in the energy sector. She noted that Kazakhstan lies at the core of the Silk Road Economic Belt, and China and Kazakhstan boast enormous cooperation potential in education, energy, economy and trade. She looked forward to building regular communication channels between the two institutions. Both sides agreed that the symposium serves as a vital step to implement the Belt and Road Initiative and deepen educational and cultural exchanges between the two countries. Leveraging respective strengths, the two parties will advance practical cooperation programs and nurture versatile young talents with global vision and professional expertise.

The visit established a regular communication mechanism between the two sides and further expanded the university’s international cooperation scope. A joint working group will be set up to refine cooperation plans and deliver tangible results. Tied together by educational cooperation, both institutions will enhance people-to-people bonds and industrial coordination between China and Kazakhstan, contributing university wisdom to further implementing the Belt and Road Initiative in the educational field.
